ABB Finland will supply 17 solar inverters for a new photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Mauritius.
The solar power plant, owned by SARAKO PVP Co. Ltd, will annually produce approximately 24 GWs of electricity and save around 15 000 tons of CO2 emissions.
The solar inverter delivery will transform the DC power from solar panels into AC power suitable for the grid. The inverters will also function as the brains of the system. ABB has previously supplied the power plant with other automation equipment, including medium-voltage switchgear and transformers.
“The deal is a brilliant testament to ABB Finland’s technological know-how in promoting clean renewable energy production,” says the company’s Marketing Director, Jyrki Leppänen.
