Skypower Global, one of the worldâ€™s largest and most successful utility-scale solar power producing companies, will fund $4.3 billion in solar power sector in Bangladesh.
President and CEO Kerry Adler announced this at a roundtable meeting of the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Hotel Waldorf Astoria in New York on Friday.
Prime Ministerâ€™s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told that the company agreed for the investment to set up a 2,000 MW solar power plant in next four years in Bangladesh.
The company will set up its office at Tungipara in Gopalganj which will create jobs for 42,000 people.
It would also donate Bangladesh 1.5 million home lanterns.
The Prime Minister focused on booming investment potentials of Bangladesh inviting the conglomerates to invest in the country.
Heads and CEOs of 27 global firms attended the meeting.
