Sojitz Corp. To Invest In Peru’s First Large-Scale Solar Power Plants.

Sojitz Corporation of America (SCA), a US subsidiary of global trading and investment company Sojitz Corporation, has signed an agreement with Grupo T-Solar Global (T-Solar), which is affiliated with Spain-based Grupo Isolux Corsan, to become a 49% equity owner in two solar plants in Peru.

Each stations is 22 megawatts in capacity.

The Majes and Reparticion Solar Power Plants are to be located in the southern part of the country, which receives significant solar radiation, and have a combined installed capacity of over 44 MW.

The solar stations in Arequipa in southern Peru have been operating since July 2012, according to the statement. They were Peru’s first large-scale solar projects.
