The 117-MW Solar Project near Santiago Has Been Approved by Chile.

Chile’s environmental committee for the Metropolitan region of Santiago has approved the 117-MW Quilapilun solar project of Inversiones y Servicios SunEdison Chile Ltda, local consultancy SGA, which managed the environmental studies, said on Wednesday.fc506b53a7d0b448485ab749ec03edcb3e07102b

The USD-256-million (EUR 226.2m) project will be developed in the Colina municipality with an installed capacity of 127.94 MWp in direct current (DC). The facility will be connected to the network.

This week Inversiones y Servicios SunEdison has presented a plan for construction of a 51-MW solar park in the same region. The Chilean unit of US renewables major SunEdison Inc already has three operating photovoltaic parks and is building a fourth one to complete nearly 300 MW installed in the country.
